Appointment of Samuel Jaffe, well-known writer and publicist, as Paris correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency was announced here today by Louis P. Rocker, president of the J.T.A. Mr. Jaffe has already sailed to assume his new duties.
“The addition of Mr. Jaffe to the foreign staff of the J.T.A. is another step in the extension and strengthening of the world-wide news-gathering apparatus of this agency,” Mr. Rocker declared. “J.T.A. is the primary source of news on developments concerning the Jewish people and we intend to spare no effort to make the service as comprehensive and effective as it can be, Mr. Jaffe’s many years of activity in the Jewish field and his deep familiarity with all facets of the Jewish situation are assurance to J.T.A. clients and subscribers that they will be fully and honestly informed of developments from this important news center.”
A native of New York City, Mr. Jaffe served in the British Army during World War I. After travelling around the world, he entered newspaper work in 1924. He is the author of numerous short stories mainly on Jewish themes, and has translated outstanding Yiddish literature into English. In recently years he has been active in public relations work.
