Borough President Samuel Levy will speak at a testimonial reception to Rabbi Joseph Schick of the West Side Jewish Center, 347 West Thirty-fourth street, this evening, at the Hotel New Yorker, according to an announcement by Judge Hyman J. Reit, chairman of the testimonial committee.
The testimonial is being given by members of the women’s wear industry on the occasion of Dr. Schick’s twentieth anniversary in the rabbinate. Others who will speak are Congressman William I. Sirovich, John J. Dorman, former fire commissioner, and Maurice Cross, president of the West Side Jewish Center.
Those assisting Judge Reit on the testimonial committee are Sol Bloom, Maurice Cross, J. J. Dorman, August Dreyer, Herman W. Gordon, Samuel Levy, Gordon V. Lyons, Leonard L. Rothstein, William I.
