Samuel Slotkin, national food chairman of the SOS campaign of the Joint Distribution Committee, contributed a carload of canned food for Jews in European DP camps, it was announced today. J.D.C. officials estimated that the donation would suffice to feed the largest DP camp in Germany for two days. The food industry committee, which Mr. Slotkin heads, is seeking 1,000,000 pounds of food to supplement the SOS goal of 4,000,000 pounds.
