San Francisco’s annual Community Chest campaign, in which prominent Jewish men and women played a leading part, has just come to a successful close, being declared the most successful drive since the chest was organized four years ago. Not only was the full quota of $2,250,000 subscribed, but the fund went some $20,000 over the top.
Included in the 104 organizations combined in the Community Chest, is the Federation of Jewish Charities with its six constituent agencies.
Mrs. M. C. Sloss, Mrs. Leo Clayburgh, Sylvain Kauffman and Supervisor Jesse C. Colman were among the leading workers in the chest drive.
