A special religious service to bring the message of Judaism to the attention of the delegates who have gathered here to attend the United Nations conference opening on Wednesday was held tonight at Temple Sherith Israel.
The services, which were sponsored by the Synagogue Council of America, which has proclaimed a “United Nations Sabbath” for this week-end, featured a prayer for the success of the conference, and memorial prayers for the victims of the war and the late President Roosevelt. Rabbi Elliot Bernstein, President of the Board of Rabbis and Cantors of Northern California, spoke on “The Basis for a Just and Enduring Peace.” Rabbi Morris Goldstein of Temple Sherith Israel was chairman.
