The amount of money to be allotted to Palestine by the Jewish National Welfare Fund of San Francisco is expected to be increased as a result of the visit to that city of Louis Lipsky, president of the Zionist Organization.
A mass meeting at Temple House of Temple Emanuel heard Mr. Lipsky speak of the present situation in Palestine. Rabbi Louis I. Newman, of Temple Emanuel, also delivered an address. The following day Mr. Lipsky was the guest of the National Welfare Fund of San Francisco. Among those present were Moses A. Gunst, president of the Fund, Morgan A. Gunst, Lloyd Dinkelspiel, A. S. Glikbarg. Edward H. Heller, Louis Sloss, Jr. Theodore W. Lilienthal, Frederick Barach, Daniel Koshland, Jesse Steinbart, Emil Greenbaum, Ansley Salz, Herbert Rothschild, Judge I. M. Golden, Dr. Henry Harris, Michael Zarchin, Max Blackfield, Sylvan Lisberger, Richard Gutstadt, Maurice Rapheld, Robert Stark, A. Sugarman, Alfired F. Meyer, Max Sommer, Rabbi Louis I. Newman, Rabbi Jacob Nieto, Cantor R. Rinder, Mrs. Henry Harris, Mrs. Martin A. Meyer, Mrs. Arthur Selig, Mrs. Helen Salz, Mrs. R. Rinder, and D. Schweizer.
At the present time the National Welfare Fund contributes more than $70,000 to the United Palestine Appeal.
Edwin J. Wittelshofer was elected president of the Central Jewish Aid Society of Denver, Colorade at the annual meeting. He succeeds Nathan Rothschild, who was made secretary of the organization. Others elected were Melvin Schlesinger, first vicepresident: Walter M. Appel, second vice-president and Joseph Zigmond, treasurer.
Reports indicated that the organization had a successful year under the Community Chest. The executive board remains the same for the coming year.
At a meeting of the Board of Directors of Monleffore Hospital. New York City, the following officers were elected to serve during the ensuring year.
S. G. Rosenbaum, president: Henry Solomon William Goldman and Samuel ### vice-presidents and H. M. Lebmean, treasurer.
Judge Mitchell ### was elected an honorary director: Herbert S. Marrin honorary secretary and Leopoid Starn honorary vice president.
The site at the northwest corner of Egersevelt boulevard and D street Philadelphia has been purchased by the Congregation ## Israel at a price of ### $13,000.
