Emphasizing that post-war retribution for Nazi atrocities against Jews “will not revive the dead nor heal the wounded, nor cure the crushed, “the central committee of the World Agudas Israel Organization today issued an appeal to all Jewish groups in the democratic countries urging them to unite in an effort to save the Jews of Europe from being completely exterminated by the Nazis before the war is over.
“The situation does not allow postponement of an attempt to rescue the Jews in Nazi-held Europe,”the appeal states, pointing out that information coming from the occupied parts of Europe leaves no doubt that millions of Jews there are in imminent danger of being annihilated by the Nazis. “We, therefore, urge all Jewish organizations throughout the world and in Palestine to create with us a united representation to appeal to the leaders of the democracies and those whose hearts still respond to human feelings, to ask them to use, without delay, all means to halt the extermination of Jewry, “the call concludes.
