Owing to the fact that the Jewish Agency leaders are interested in the Palestine work substantial results from the Agency’s efforts will soon be seen, declared Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum, a member of the Agency’s administrative committee, and a leader of the American Mizrachi, who came here after the Agency’s London sessions and is now returning to New York to help in the Allied Jewish Campaign.
Rabbi Teitelbaum in his stay here found the Jews making progress and continuing in the upbuilding work despite their difficult position. He stressed the fact that the entire Jewish community was united in its indignation at the “dangerous separatist activities” of the Brith Shalom society which is “preventing the establishment of genuine peace in the country.” He explained that the Mizrachi had urged the Zionist Executive in London to put a stop to these activities, particularly the collection of signatures for a petition to the High Commissioner urging commutation of the Arab death sentences.
The Mizrachi, he said, is energetically continuing its work of education, religion and colonization and is endeavoring to consolidate the Hittin and Neve Yacob settlements. The Hapoel Ha’Mizrachi (young Mizrachi), he pointed out, will colonize about 120 of a thousand families of workers as was decided at London.
