Eventually the Jews of the small towns of Russia will have to leave for the colonies whether they want to or not, is the conclusion reached by two Russian Jewish economists, Weizblit and Cantor, in summarizing their impressions after a trip through the small towns of the Ukrainia.

Cantor, who is the secretary of the Ukrainian Comzet, the government department for settling the Jews on the land, says that the hope that the situation of the Jews in the small towns will improve with the latest government measures to an extent where everybody will find work in the small town is groundless. He cautioned against weakening the colonization work and pointed out that the Jewish artisans may be relieved but that the bulk of the Jewish population cannot avoid colonization.
