“As far as the Jewish peril is concerned. Ludendorff never knew of such a peril during the war, or he would not have promoted Jewish soldiers and officer, to important posts and decorated them with the iron cross”, is the comment made by Theodor Wolff in the Tageblatt on Ludendorff’s long harangue to the Munich Tribunal which is trying him and several others for treason in connection with the unsuccessful Hitler-Ludendorff “Putsch” of last November.
“This idea of a Jewish peril has been suggested to his uncritical mind by that demagogue Hitler”. Ludendorff, unversed in the ways of the world, became an easy prey to those who knew how to exploit his embitterment and his restless ambition: who suggested to him that Germany had been plunged into the depths by the Marxists and other had leaders and that he alone could be her savior”, concludes Wolf.
