The Frankfurter Zeitung in an article today states its belief that the Mandates Commission of the League of Nations will take an early opportunity at the beginning of the year to clarify the situation brought about by Great Britain’s announcement of a new Palestine policy.
“Great Britain’s policy is undoubtedly not along the same lines that the Mandates Commission would have desired it to pursue,” says the Zeitung. “It is to be expected that members of the Mandates Commission will not refrain from expressing their opinion on the subject. They may even consider a revision of the Mandate agreement.
“But it is impossible to say whether this will lead to any practical improvement of the Palestine situation as the British government understands how to twist matters to suit British purposes,” concludes the Zeitung.
