Four fighter planes of a type used by the Royal Air Force have disappeared and are believed on their way to Palestine, it was reported here today.
The planes were recently purchased by a Terry Farnfield for $60,000. Farnfield arrive here with references from South African businessmen and said that the planes were needed for a film company, which he formed with the aid of British businessmen. Farnfield and the pilots of the planes are officially reported to be missing.
Scotland Yard has asked the International Police Commission headquarters in Paris to assist in the search for the planes and men. An official at the Civil Aviation Ministry admitted that it had been “fairly bamboozled.”
