An appeal to all Scottish members of Parliament to press for the release of the 1,500 Jewish refugees who have been interned on the island of Mauritius for more than three years was issued here today by Norman MacLean, former Moderator of the Church of Scotland.
Dr. MacLean charges that the internees, who were sent to Mauritius, which is off the coast of Madagascar, when they were apprehended attempting to enter Palestine without visas, are being “made a sacrifice to the dead idol of appeasement.”
