“It is a discouraging fact that although $12,000 already has been raised toward the $15,000 quota for Seattle Jewry in the nationwide $3,000,000 drive to aid German Jewish refugees, this money has come from only 384 persons, although the Seattle Jewish community numbers more than 15,000,” said Sol Esfeld, vice-chairman of the Seattle United Jewish Appeal drive.
