Abdul Rahman Azzam Pasha, secretary of the Arab League, had a 35-minute discussion with Secretary of State Marshall today on Palestine and other problems of interest to the Moslem world.
Loy Henderson, chief of the Division of Near Eastern and African Affairs of the Department, who participated in the discussion, said that Palestine was touched on very lightly, and that there was no great amount of discussion of the subject.
Azzam Pasha told reporters before entering the Secretary’s office that he planned to point out to him the importance of “our world” as a buffer between the East and west. He said that the Arabs have very little resources and money to further their case, in contrast with “world Jewry.” He further said that the Zionists were using the “sentimental upheaval about the displaced persons” to advance their political aims in Palestine.
