Secretary of State Dean Rusk conferred here today with Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister for almost one hour. The meeting was afterwards described; as a friendly discussion reflecting the long-standing friendly relations between the United States and Israel.
It was the first meeting which the two top-ranking diplomats had since Mr. Rusk assumed the post of Secretary of State. Upon leaving the State Department, Mrs. Meir said she had been very happy at the opportunity of discussing matters with Secretary Rusk. The discussion was believed to have been of a general nature.
