Israeli security forces are taking elaborate measures to prevent disorders in the occupied territories tomorrow, the third anniversary of the start of the Six-Day War, a military government spokesman told the JTA today. The occasion is usually marked by Arab strikes and demonstrations and sometimes violence. He said the military governors in all West Bank towns have talked to local Arab leaders to impress upon them that no disorders or dislocations of normal life would be tolerated, even if unaccompanied by violence. They warned that Israeli authorities might interfere to prevent mass strikes by shopkeepers and others that threatened to disrupt normal economic activity. The spokesman said the action taken by Israeli authorities would depend on the circumstances in each individual location. Underground leaflets were distributed in several West Bank towns today urging the population to strike tomorrow. Friday is the Moslem sabbath but many Moslem shopkeepers normally remain open anyway.
