The Jerusalem municipality wants to expropriate land in the adjacent administered territory to meet the city’s growing industrial needs, it was learned today. Plans involving the area of Anatot, east of Jerusalem, have already been taken up on a ministerial level. Justice Minister Yaacov Shimshon Shapiro has submitted recommendations to Premier Golda Meir, Defense Minister Moshe Dayan and Mayor Teddy Kollek of Jerusalem. Shapiro recommended, however, that no lands should be expropriated until plans for the new industrial complex are completed. All building and land transactions in the area have been banned for the time being.
