Palestine Jewish organizations today appealed to the Government for leniency in behalf of a group of 780 Jews who arrived on Palestine’s shores without immigration permits, refugees from anti-Semitic persecution in Rumania.

The Government administrative secretary, Hartwell, received a delegation of the Jewish National Council (Vaad Leumi), headed by its chairman, Isaac Ben-Zvi, and a deputation of the Rumanian Settlers’ Association, headed by Meir Ebner, and promised to transmit their pleas to High Commissioner Sir Harold A. MacMichael.
