A fund in tribute to Professor Albert Einstein, distinguished scientist, will be presented to him at a dinner given in his honor at the Hotel Commodore on March 15th, according to an announcement made at a luncheon yesterday at the City Club by Dr. A. S. W. Rosenbach, President of the American Friends of the Hebrew University. Attempts will be made to raise the sum of $100,000 through friends of Dr. Einstein in New York and communities throughout the United States to be presented by him to the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and other organizations in which he is deeply interested.
Dr. Einstein is making a special trip to New York for the purpose of being present at the dinner, said Dr. Rosenbach, and will leave for Europe at midnight on the same day on the SS. Deutschland. This will be Professor Einstein’s first visit to New York on his present trip to America. More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the dinner.
