Under the direction of the Pacific Coast region of the United Synagogue of America, an intensive drive is to be made this fall to stimulate and intensify conservative Jewish life on the western slope.
Two years of well-organized activity since the formation of the regional body for the Pacific Coast are to be climaxed with another regional conference in the Northwest at which a specific plan will be outlined for further developing and expanding the cause of conservative Judaism in this territory.
Rabbi Elliot M. Burstein of this city, president of the Pacific Coast regional body, has been in consultation with Rabbi Philip Langh of Seattle in the matter of the coming session, and plans are being made to hold the meeting either in Seattle or Portland.
Considerable progress has been made by the United Synagogue of America in its endeavors on the Pacific Coast. Not only have conservative congregations been strengthened but new religious groups have been formed and some valuable propagandizing work has been accomplished.
