Israel’s current citrus crop will reach 38 million crates, a 10 per cent increase over last year’s crop, despite a late harvest owing to climatic conditions which has seriously delayed the shipment of citrus to the British and Western European markets. Moshe Levin, European director of the Israel Citrus Marketing Board, said today. He reported that the harvest delay affected all citrus-producing countries in the Mediterranean region and might depress prices when the full crop finally reaches the market between January and March.
