“The present open conflict between Hitler’s Reichbishop and the religious opposition in both Catholic and Protestant circles is a battle to the death,” the Rev. Theodore C. Hume, pastor of the New England Congregation and one of Chicago’s outstanding Protestant clergymen, declared. He has just returned from Germany, where as a member of a group of observers piloted by Sherwood Eddy he studied the German religious conflict.
“In the end this conflict may be the downfall of Hitler,” he declared.
