Israeli police seized a large consignment of hashish about to be sent out of the country today. The shipment, consisting of more than 30 kg valued at several hundred thousand IL, was found in two false-bottomed trunks that were about to be loaded aboard a Lufthansa airliner at Lod Airport. Police said several suspects have been detained. The destination of the hashish was not disclosed.
The discovery was made after police raided a flat here which was suspected of serving as a drop for stolen goods They found a bill of lading which led them to the airport. Police said the hashish originated in Lebanon and that the containers carried the Arabic inscription, “God Bless You.”
