Barnett Freedman, 33-year-old Russian Jewish artist, is the winner of a design for the special stamps which will be issued by the British Post Office in honor of the King’s Jubilee.
Freedman is a self-taught artist. He began to study art as a boy when illness confined him for four years to a hospital. Leaving the hospital he continued his art studies and won an art scholarship in London. He is the protege of Sir William Rothenstein.
