Seminary to Confer Doctor of Hebrew Literature Degree on Louis Marshall

By a unanimous vote of the Board of Directors and the Feculty of the Jewish Theological Seminary, Louis Marshall, chairman of the Board of Directors, has been tendered, the degree of Doctor of Hebrew. Literature, Honoris Causa. Dr. Cyrus Adler, president of the Seminary, announced.

The degree is conferred upon Mr. Marshall in recognition of his distinguished services in behalf of Jewish learning and Jewish education. The degree will be awarded at the next Commencement Exercises of the Seminary on Sunday, June 12.

SIR WYNDHAM DEEDES ARRIVES IN NEW YORK

Sir Wyndham Deedes, former civil secretary of the Palestine government, arrived in New York yesterday on the steamer “Deutschland.”

Sir Wyndham, who comes to this country to aid in the United Palestine Appeal, was met by representatives of the Zionist Organization of America and the funds included in the Appeal. Recently Sir Wyndham visited Poland in the interests of the Keren Hayesod.
