Senator Hubert H. Humphrey of Minnesota received tonight the Stephen Wise Award of the American Jewish Congress at a dinner in the Essex House Hotel at which more than $280,000 in contributions to the 1961 campaign of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York were announced. Dr. Joachim Prinz, president of the congress, presented its highest honor to Senator Humphrey for his “substantial and enduring contribution in the fight for human rights, Justice, freedom and individual dignity.”
