The Senate Judiciary Committee approved Sen. Pat McCarran’s omnibus immigration bill which contains features opposed by major Jewish organizations. Among other provisions, the bill would make possible the exclusion and deportation of foreign born “undesirables” on vague grounds.

It was indicated today that the proposed bill will cause prolonged debate when it reaches the Senate. Sen. McCarran is determined to call up the measure for Senate consideration during the present session.
