Senate debate on the FEPC Bill opened today as Senate Labor Committee chairman Elbert D. Thomas called for quick action. Sen. Thomas said that hearings have been held for the last six years and that it "would be wrong to pyramid hearings upon hearings." The Senate expects to spend at least several days on the bill and, perhaps, several weeks.
