The House late yesterday approved and seat to the Senate the administration’s supplementary aid package, which includes $500 million for Israel, $30 million for Jordan and $5 million for Lebanon. The Senate, which will consider the package after Christmas, is also expected to endorse it. The House action followed the approval earlier in the day of legislation authorizing the aid program, which passed the Senate by 41 to 20 and the House by voice vote. The authorizing legislation had been delayed for several months over the question of restrictions on American troops in Cambodia.
