Arab-Israel tensions were among topics discussed in an “off-the-record” review of the Near East situation that took place today, when Lucius D. Battle, U.S. Ambassador to Egypt, appeared before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Chairman J. W. Fulbright presided.
Ambassador Battle is in Washington for consultations. The issue of aid to the Nasser regime was also reviewed, it was learned.
