The Senate today voted to grant a Federal Charter to the Jewish War Veterans’ National Memorial Shrine, which is located in Washington. Sen. Bourke B. Hickenlooper, Iowa Republican, spoke in opposition to the charter but the measure passed despite his objection. It has already been passed by the House.
Chaplain Capt. Joshua Goldberg, USN, has been selected to receive the gold medal of merit award of the Jewish War Veterans in recognition of his services to military chaplaincy organizations of NATO countries. His selection as recipient of the award was announced by Samuel Shaikewitz, of St. Louis, Mo., new national commander of JWV. The award will be presented at a dinner in New York on November 18.
