Seven nationalities participated in a protest meeting against the Johnson Immigration Bill, which was held last night at the Court House Assembly Room here. Judge Hugo Pam of Chicago was the principal speaker. A telegram was received from Senator Magnus Johnson which read as follows:
“I am unalterably opposed to the eighteen ninety census basis for quotas. The present law, if liberally modified respecting the admission of relatives is satisfactory to me”.
The meeting requested to go on record as being opposed to the Bill.
