Nine Sephardi representatives will leave for Stockholm tomorrow to take part in the fourth plenary assembly of the World Jewish Congress as part of an Israel delegation which originally had no Sephardi representation.
After protests were made to the Israel executive of the WJC, the executive agreed to add two Sephardi representatives to the Israel delegation. The Sephardi Federation of Israel decided on its own to send three representatives. The Mapai added two Sephardi delegates to its group and the General Zionists and the right-wing Herut each added one Sephardi to its delegation. As a result of the additions, the Israel delegation will consist of 34 delegates instead of the original 25.
