More than 100 Sephardic rabbis and lay leaders from all over the United States and Canada participated in the first Sephardic Synagogue Leadership Conference sponsored by and held at Yeshiva University today. The Sephardim took part in workshops on adult education, youth programing, synagogue placement and Talmud Torah education.
The conference was convened by Dr. Solomon Gaon, chief rabbi (Haham) of the Sephardic Jews in the British Commonwealth, who is now serving as director of the Sephardic Studies Program at Yeshiva University.
