A Jewish Agency official disclosed today that the Agency has been approached by several hundred young people from the United States for assistance in setting up their own independent settlements in Israel. According to Avraham. Rosenman, deputy director of the settlement department, the inquiries came from persons in their 20s with university backgrounds who said they were disillusioned with the materialistic American way of life and wanted to escape from the polluted urban centers of America where people lived in loneliness and in fear of violence.
