The Municipality has been advised by its legal counsel that the Eros “sex shop” is operating within the law and cannot be shut down again by administrative order. The boutique which specializes in erotica aroused the ire of Orthodox elements who claimed it was profaning the Holy City. It was ordered closed by the city two weeks ago because it had no license.
But the operators of the shop converted it to a show case in which no business is transacted and for which there is no license requirement. Customers may browse among the various books and leaflets on display. But they place their orders with the parent Eros shop in Tel Aviv.
