The foundation has awarded 1,045 scholarships since it was establish### by Benjamin and Max Shapiro, brothers who were textile factors. Some ### year’s winners were receiving the scholarships, awarded on the basis n### scholastic ability, for a second, third and fourth time, while 32 winners ### ceiving their first award.
