Moshe Sharett, Israel Foreign Minister, arrived here today by plane to attend the final stages of the U.N. General Assembly session. His primary purpose in attending the session, he said, is “to assert Israel’s position on Jerusalem and to try to get it internationally accepted.”
Mr. Sharett said that in attending the U.N. Assembly, he was here also “to offer all reasonable guarantees for the safety and the inviolability of such Holy Places as may be found in our territory.” Another part of his mission, he stated, is to urge maximum effort on behalf of American Jewry to help Israel absorb the tremendous flow of immigration “which is now streaming through the seaports and airports of Israel.”
