Yesterday was Moshe Sharett Day in this city as Mayor John A. Scott proclaimed the city’s intention to honor the Israeli Foreign Minister who spoke here in behalf of the Israel Bond Drive. Mr. Sharett is touring the U.S. in an effort to aid the united Jewish Appeal and the bond campaign.
At a luncheon meeting for the Foreign Minister the Mayor presented the Israeli diplomat with a key to the city. Later. Mr. Sharett was the guest of honor at a dinner held at Temple Beth-El. Religious and communal leaders packed the affair to hear Mr. Sharett plead for continued American support for Israel.
