Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett and the American Charge Affaires in Israel, H. Russel, today conferred on the tense situation along Israel’s frontiers. The conference took place after further raids by infiltrating Arabs over the week-end. Two Israelis wounded last week in the raids died today.
(The shooting incidents on the Jordanian frontier were discussed this weekend in Washington when Israel Ambassador Abba Eban and Israel military Attaché Colonel Chaim Herzog met with John D. Jernegah, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs. The Israelis visited the State Department to conform with Mr. Jernegan on the situation which the Israel Embassy described as “chaotic.”)
