Israel’s Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett today visited Secretary of State Dean Acheson and exchanged views with him on various matters of common interest to Israel and the United States. He was accompanied by Ambassador Abba Eban, who participated in the conversation.
Mr. Sharett revealed that Secretary Acheson expressed interest in the German-Israeli reparations problem and said that the United States wanted to see an agreed solution of the problem. The Israel Foreign Minister brought Mr. Acheson “up to date” on the status of the German-Israel negotiations. He said he informed the Secretary of the latest German offer to Israel.
