The Teachers Seminary of the Alliance Israelite Uniyerselle in Paris was awarded by the Educational Department of the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem the Shazar Prize for Jewish education and devotion to Israel, it was announced today by the American Friends of the Alliance in New York.
Jules Braunschvig, president of the Alliance, received the award from the head of the Jewish Agency department in the presence of President Yitzhak Navon and the noted writer Elie Weisel who is also a laureate of the Shazar Prize. The Alliance Teachers Seminary has trained many thousands of teachers for the various networks of schools of the Alliance and other educational institutions.
