Shimon Peres, leader of Israel’s opposition Labor Alignment, conferred for more than two hours Monday with French Socialist Party Secretary General Francois Mitterand and former Premier Pierre Mendes-France at the latter’s home. Peres, in Paris for Israel’s 30th anniversary celebrations, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that his meetings were “friendly and cordial and that he and Mitterand were in near agreement on most Middle East issues.
