The third transport of food and other relief supplies for Hungarian Jewry sent by the Chief Rabbi’s Emergency Council of Britain arrived today. The 30-ton transport was accompanied by Arthur Mozes, the Council’s supply and transport officer.
In addition to the Council’s shipment, Mozes brought 4,300 private parcels and a quantity of clothing donated by school children in England. The supplies will be issued primarily to children under 12 and to the aged and sick. Two trucks which brought part of the shipment will remain in Hungary to be used by the Jewish Community. A truck formerly used as a mobile synagogue will be converted into an ambulance.
