Thousands of Jewish homes in London went with out kosher meat today as a result of a strike of shochtim — ritual slaughterers. The strike was called over a dispute between the slaughterers and the London Shechita Council on a question of working hours. The slaughterers want to start work at 9:00 A.M daily and the Council insists on a starting hour of 7: 30 A.M.
