The Religious Welfare Committee of the Canadian Jewish Congress today issued an appeal to the Jewish rabbis of Canada to volunteer for active service with the chaplaincy service in view of the increasing shortage of qualified men to carry on this very important work on behalf of the Jewish men in the services.
More than 60,000 servicemen of all denominations from the combat forces of Canada, the United States, and other United Nations have visited the larger Service Men’s Centers of the Canadian Jewish Congress, it was announced today by Harry R. Moscoe, executive secretary of the War Efforts Committee of the Canadian Jewish Congress. These centers are located in Montreal, Toronto, Halifax, Winnipeg, Moncton and Vancouver.
