Sidney J. Jacobs of Temple Judea was declared winner in the finals of the oratorical contest sponsored by the religious education committee of the Council of Jewish Women, held in Curtiss Hall of the Fine Arts Building. The subject was “What Unites the Jews?”
Herzl Mendelsohn, Temple Beth Israel, Mortimer Rayman, B’nai Zion Congregation, and Maynard Schwerdlin, Humboldt Boulevard Temple, who were sectional winners, placed second, third and fourth, respectively.
