Sidney S. Cohen has been appointed executive director of the Associated Jewish Philanthropies, Judge Jacob J. Kaplan, president of the organization, announced today. Mr. Cohen succeeds Dr. B. M. Selekman, newly-appointed louis E. Kirstein Professor of Labor Relations at Harvard Business School. Dr. Selekman will continue to serve the AJP as consultant.
A member of the administrative staff of the Associated Jewish Philanthropies for the past 15 years, Mr. Cohen is a well-know figure in Jewish social service. Before coming to Boston he served with the New York Federation of Jewish Philanthropies and the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities. He has also worked for the United Palestine Appeal and the Joint Distribution Committee.
