Dr. Abba Hillel Silver, the American Zionist leader who died in Cleveland this weekend, was eulogized at the Cabinet meeting yesterday by Prime Minister Levi Eshkol. Premier Eshkol stressed Dr. Silver’s great achievements as a leader of the American Zionist movement.
The Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, paid tribute today to two departed Jewish leaders–Meir Argov, the late chairman of the Knesset’s foreign affairs committee, and Rabbi Silver. Mr. Argov was eulogized by Kadish Luz, Speaker of the House. Rabbi Silver’s eulogy was delivered by Joseph Serlin.
